Enjoy Vibrant Vegetable Dishes and Juicy Pork Steak at “Yasai no Ousama Yoga”

This is our review of Yasai no Ousama Yoga (Maps), visited in April 2026.

During my recent visit to Yoga Station in Tokyo, I discovered a standout restaurant that perfectly blends healthy vegetable cuisine with satisfying comfort food—“Yasai no Ousama Yoga. (やさいの王様 用賀店)” Conveniently located right next to the station, this spot is ideal if you’re searching for a healthy restaurant in Tokyo, a vegetable-focused café, or simply a relaxing place to dine in Setagaya.

Situated inside Setagaya Business Square, the restaurant features a bright, glass-walled interior filled with natural light and warm wooden accents. Despite being in the heart of the city, the atmosphere feels calm and inviting. I noticed many groups of friends and female diners enjoying long, relaxed meals, which made it clear that this isn’t just a quick stop—it’s a place to unwind. While it’s known as a vegetable restaurant in Tokyo, the menu also includes a wide variety of meat dishes, making it appealing for all kinds of diners.

On this visit, I ordered the pork steak (ポークステーキ), baguette with a seasonal vegetable side dish (バゲット・季節の小鉢), hot sangria (ホットサングリア), and crunchy potato fries (クランチポテトフライ).

The pork steak was the highlight—a thick cut cooked slowly using sous-vide techniques, resulting in incredibly tender meat with a slightly pink center. The flavor was layered: first a smoky sear, then juicy sweetness, followed by a rich garlic sauce that tied everything together. The baguette and seasonal vegetable side added balance, bringing freshness and color to the meal—exactly what you’d expect from a Tokyo vegetable dining experience.

The crunchy potato fries were simple but addictive, with a crispy exterior and fluffy interior. Paired with the hot sangria, the combination was surprisingly perfect. The drink’s fruity sweetness and gentle spice enhanced both the savory fries and the rich pork, creating a well-rounded dining experience. It’s easy to see why this place gets high reviews for both portion size and flavor, as well as its diverse drink menu.

What makes Yasai no Ousama Yoga truly special is its concept: celebrating the natural flavors of vegetables while still offering a complete and satisfying meal. Using fresh, sometimes rare vegetables—including produce from their own farm—the restaurant delivers dishes that are both visually appealing and nutritionally balanced. With thoughtfully designed set meals that include bread or rice, soup, and salad, you’ll leave feeling full and refreshed.

If you’re exploring Setagaya or looking for a restaurant near Yoga Station, this is a place I’d highly recommend. Whether you want a healthy lunch in Tokyo or a relaxed dinner with friends, Yasai no Ousama Yoga offers a memorable dining experience that hits all the right notes.
