This is our review of Chef’s Marché (Maps), visited in February 2026.
If you’re craving a healthy and satisfying dinner near Gakugei-Daigaku Station, Chef’s Marché Gakugei-Daigaku Ekimae is a must-visit hidden gem. This stylish greengrocer café combines the freshness of a farmer’s market with the comfort of a local bistro. Their colorful salad sets and creamy banana smoothies have become a favorite among Tokyo’s health-conscious diners.

About Chef’s Marché: Fresh Ingredients, Fresh Ideas
Chef’s Marché is a unique café–greengrocer hybrid, founded under the concept of “Fun to see, kind to buy, delicious to eat.” The shop first opened in July 2018 under the Quarto M brand and later relocated in March 2023 to its current location inside Gakudai Market, operated by UNCHEF.
Here, professional chefs handpick seasonal vegetables and fruits directly from local markets. The result is a menu that celebrates freshness and flavor while staying eco-friendly and approachable.

The Perfect Dinner Stop Near Gakugei-Daigaku Station
Just a two-minute walk from the station’s west exit, Chef’s Marché offers a relaxing retreat from the city bustle. Beneath the softly lit railway arches, the air is filled with the hum of the nearby shopping street. Inside, the cozy, minimalist design and casual counter ordering system make it easy to unwind after work.

I visited on a weekday evening and enjoyed skipping the usual dinner rush. I went with the popular Chef’s Marché Salad Set (¥1,485) and their signature Banana Smoothie (around ¥590)—a light yet filling combination perfect for a quick and healthy dinner in Tokyo.
Colorful Salad Set: A Rainbow of Freshness

Each salad is made fresh to order, featuring more than ten kinds of seasonal vegetables such as lettuce, mizuna, paprika, colorful carrots, avocado, and fruit tomatoes. The presentation alone—bursting with reds, yellows, and greens—feels like opening a jewel box.
The aroma of earthy greens mixed with bright herbs is instantly refreshing. Each bite delivers crisp textures and balanced flavors: sweet tomatoes, crunchy mizuna, and tender avocado. Add a Japanese sesame or soy dressing for extra depth.
Regulars rave that the portion is generous enough for two, the dressings are top-notch, and specialty items like their eggplant salad introduce delightful new textures. Pairing your salad with side dishes or grilled fish makes for a truly nutritious Tokyo dinner.
Signature Banana Smoothie: Sweet, Creamy, and Refreshing

Chef’s Marché is just as famous for its banana smoothies, made in-house using perfectly ripe bananas. The pale yellow drink glows under café lighting, bringing a tropical warmth to your meal.
Its soothing aroma and natural sweetness make it as comforting as it is energizing. The smoothie’s smooth texture, accented with tiny bits of fruit, leaves a clean and refreshing finish—ideal after a hearty salad.
Why You’ll Love Chef’s Marché

Between the fresh vegetable salad and the creamy banana smoothie, I left feeling comfortably full and completely refreshed. For only about ¥1,500, it’s incredible value for such high-quality, market-fresh food.
On my way back through Gakugei-Daigaku Station, I was already thinking about my next visit—maybe to try their fruit punch for something different. For anyone who loves fresh produce or is chasing that perfect healthy Tokyo dinner spot, Chef’s Marché Gakugei-Daigaku Ekimae is a must-try.
